You and I both know that while you grow a business you start to feel the tension and internal discomfort churning in your gut.
While you get outside your comfort zone to do something you’ve never done before, you can feel your brain and whole nervous system freak out. Your doubts start cycling through your head saying:
For my clients, this occurs whenever they make a big bold decision around their niche, whenever they sell a high ticket offer or even pick up the phone to call a prospect. What’s the big insight here? I’ll tell you about a story of how I made my first 10k month. Late 2018 I made a big bold decision to invest in an online program that was $12k. Why was it a big decision? I didn’t have the money. However, I decided to invest and make it work! I got on what seemed like 100 calls per day, enrolling people in my course, but coming into the end of the month it seemed like I wasn’t going to make it. With that being said, it was still the best financial month I’ve ever had! But I found myself feeling disappointed, frustrated and upset. I had to be my own emotional fitness coach. Instead of giving in, I dug deep and followed through with my action plan, regardless of how I felt. Have you ever done this? Have you ever tested yourself in a physical or emotional challenge? How did you feel afterward? Well, you may start to find that once you master your mindset and emotional fitness, there is actual comfort in the discomfort. Once I had this breakthrough, I actually started sobbing. It hit me so emotionally to recognise that the reason why I was feeling this way was that I was willing to put myself in uncomfortable situations so I could make a difference. 99% of the population are not willing to make this leap, but as business owners, we do this every day. There is a level of self-love, discipline, and self-respect that comes with following through on everything you put on your calendar. With this comes the certainty that your goals will be achieved and you will become the successful business owner you envision. If you know this is true, it means you can welcome the discomfort, embrace the challenge and enjoy the ride as it moves you forward. This is in contrast to the discomfort that doesn’t move you forward. This involves beating yourself up, indulging in those negative emotions and even believing those doubts flowing through your head. This whole process is what my coaches guide me through and it’s what a coach will do for you too. It gives you the certainty that no matter how you feel throughout your day, week and month, you know your business goals will be ticked off. How have you been facing discomfort? Maybe it’s time to build a different relationship with discomfort, not only for your sake but for those you are here to help and for those who matter most to you.
