If you are starting a digital marketing business, there are many frustrations along the way.
What is your niche going to be? How are you going to explain what it is you do? What do you charge when you haven’t done anything like this before!??
I love people who take their destiny into their own hands, who back themselves to learn a new skill, and start have a mission to provide more freedom for your life.
All you want is 1 or 2 paying clients so you can get them quick results and see your confidence soar!
The issue is that all the confusion and doubt show up the minute we get outside our comfort zone. This can lead to some less than resourceful mental states.
We all know that building a business takes more than the hustle and grind.
You need to be creative, passionate, determined, caring and open-minded.
Those resources are tough to uncover in yourself when you are sitting in confusion, procrastination and often beating yourself up for not being ‘where you should be.’
I’d wonder what would happen if you shift your focus slightly.
Instead of focusing on revenue and clients, what if you focus on value and connection?
This is always an option.
Are you really caring
What would it feel like to really connect with them, understand them and look into your accumulated wisdom to see if you can really add the value to help them get to where they want to go?
What would it be like not to just make a sale and some money for yourself, but to really help a person take their business to the next level? You may be more in touch with how their business also adds more value to the world and improves the lives of others.
What types of emotions would show up for you during the prospecting stage,
I noticed this difference in my personal life when I was able to not accept someone’s request to pay for my services.
Some of you may be thinking ‘are you crazy!!!!’
Hear me out.
Think about what would be different if you are growing a business not just to work for yourself, provide more freedom and have a great income, but to generally have the vision to make this world a better place than when you left it.
What if you had a mission to serve something greater than yourself, and in the process have your own needs and personal goals achieved also?
With this in mind, you wouldn’t want to accept anyone’s investment if you did not think it would benefit them.
I’ve had people ask me about my coaching programs who I did not think would be a good fit. Now, I’ll recommend other resources and make sure to set their path in the right direction, but saying no reminds me that it’s not just about the sale.
How would you view your internal and external obstacles?
How quickly could you bounce back after a ‘setback’?
Would you even begin to see your challenges as setbacks, or would you start focusing on how the struggles help you grow into the person required to give at a different level?
We all have the resources inside of us that are capable of great things. However, it’s easy to get lost in confusion when you are focusing on yourself, what you don’t have yet and how you deserve more.
I like to remind myself that the internal resources that came up with the problem will never find the solution. It often requires me to dig deep and access my passion, courage, care, patience, and determination to see the situation in a new light and perspective.
