I started my coaching business about 2 years ago. I had little skill of how to help people, little knowledge about how to grow a business and no idea where to start.
Sound familiar?
However, I would watch my coach training videos and see people’s
I know something is triggered in me when I see someone let go of their survival mentality, to open up and embrace their loving and giving nature, their true self.
Once I discovered this emotional trigger within me, I was determined to make a living out of coaching people.
I was not only growing my own business, but I was coaching new business owners, helping them overcome the emotional challenges necessary for their success.
It was the start of a tough, but a very fulfilling journey, and due to the level of uncertainty involved, it was the perfect battleground for personal development.
Let me explain.
Most business owners who start on this journey focus on finding the external business strategies that will help them achieve wealth and freedom.
What I have learned is that ALL business problems are personal problems that are being amplified in your business.
Business is simply solving problems for a target audience with an effective product or service. Therefore, there’s no business challenge that can’t be solved with creativity, patience, passion, determination, love, and persistence. All these characteristics come from within.
Business is just a way for you to strengthen these emotional muscles within yourself so that you can grow, give, and love to the best of your ability. This is why it’s the best personal development course if you have the right mindset.
I hope by reading them it will shift your mind and perspectives on the business challenges you face.
5 Reasons Why
1) It builds courage
Growing a business is the game of uncertainty. A business is either growing or dying. Therefore, the business owner is always forced to move outside their comfort zone, feel the uncertainty in their body, and act anyway.
Massive action is the cure-all for any goal you want to achieve in your life, and a business owner strengthens this muscle on a daily basis.
2) You prove yourself wrong
Anyone who has taken a step outside their comfort zone knows it’s accompanied
Understanding this helps you not only manage your mind but prove that those negative thoughts and doubts are not true.
Most people have the doubts of not being good enough, so they never take action. This pattern, unfortunately, reaffirms their original belief making them feel lost or stuck.
By taking action a business owner learns a powerful secret. Those thoughts in your head are just thoughts. If you don’t believe them, they don’t form the negative emotion that leaves most people stuck in their tracks.
The truth is, we have more control over our thoughts than you know, and we can decide to think thoughts on a daily basis that serve us. Your thoughts don’t define you.
3) You stop judging others
This benefit can often be hidden. But why are some business owners overcome with the fear of judgment? It’s because they are also the one who are judging others.
Business owners break this pattern in two parts.
1) To succeed in business and overcome your fear of being judged, you must learn to see other people in their beautiful flaws and imperfect perfection. You learn that mistakes are part of life and it doesn’t mean anything has gone wrong.
2) Once you have put yourself on the line, taken a few tumbles and got back up with a smile on your face, you start forgiving yourself for the mistakes you’ve made because they are for the right reasons. When this occurs, it makes it surprisingly easy to forgive others for their own mistakes.
4) You focus on solutions
Our brains have evolved to focus on what is wrong with our lives. If 100 positive things happen to you today, the big puddle you stepped in will be the only thing that sticks in your mind.
However, when you grow a business your mindset has to be on finding insightful and creative solutions! Searching for solutions in your business and for your clients with this practice starts to become your primary pattern.
This is a small mental shift, but one that will change the direction of your life.
5) You find ways to contribute
It’s been said what’s missing in any scenario is what you are not giving. The art of giving is one that solves many of the emotional problems faced by your average Joe.
I have seen this in my own coaching business and I’m sure you have seen it in your own life. The area of focus when we are stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, upset is always on ourselves.
However, you can notice the internal state change when you go out of your way to do something nice, surprise someone with a gift or even give financially to someone in need.
That’s because giving is the quickest way to smash down the wall of scarcity, and it’s a mindset that’s built in a business owner.
You are always focused on how you can add more value to your clients, customers, your team and even yourself.
So I hope these examples have given you some perspective on how and why starting or growing your own business can be so beneficial to your personal development.
Truth be told, anyone can go through a personal development journey with the correct mindset. However what’s important that is the emphasis is on the action. When you take action it brings up all your mental and emotional challenges, giving you an awareness and area of focus for improvement.
Ultimately, we all have a vision of who we want to become and business is just one vehicle to provide the challenges necessary for those developments. If you don’t take this route, I truly hope you find another vehicle to show yourself what you are capable of.
